Conrad New York Downtown Review: Space to Settle In

Erons Travel Advisory

My rating: 4.5/5
Hotel website: Conrad New York Downtown

Space makes a difference in New York, especially when you’re traveling with family. It’s one of the main reasons I recommend the Conrad New York Downtown.

I’m Gabriel, a Fargo-based travel advisor and founder of Erons Travel. I enjoyed my stay here, and it’s a hotel I often consider for clients who want room to spread out and a quieter neighborhood.

A quieter side of Manhattan

The Conrad is at 102 North End Avenue in Battery Park City, near the Hudson River, Brookfield Place, the World Trade Center, and the Oculus.

I liked being close to Lower Manhattan’s sights while staying somewhere that felt calmer than Midtown. For visits to the Statue of Liberty or trips on the Staten Island Ferry, allow time to reach the departure points farther south.

If Broadway and Fifth Avenue are the focus of your trip, I’d weigh this location against a Midtown hotel. The right choice depends on where you’ll spend most of your time.

The suites are the main attraction

The Conrad is an all-suite hotel. I stayed in a high-floor, one-bedroom suite with two double beds and had plenty of space to settle in.

That layout is especially useful for families and travelers sharing a room. When booking, I’d confirm the bedding and occupancy limits for your particular party.

A rooftop worth visiting

I didn’t try breakfast at the hotel, so I can’t review it. I did spend time at Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar and enjoyed the harbor views.

The prices struck me as reasonable by New York standards during my visit. The bar operates seasonally, so check its schedule if it’s part of the appeal for your trip.

Who I’d recommend it for

The Conrad is a strong fit for families, multigenerational trips, and travelers who prioritize suite space and a quieter setting.

My stay was very good, and I’d happily recommend it when Lower Manhattan makes sense for the itinerary.

Frequently asked questions

Is every room a suite?

Yes. The all-suite format is one of the hotel’s biggest advantages.

Is it convenient for sightseeing?

It’s particularly convenient for Lower Manhattan. For a trip centered on Midtown, expect to spend more time in transit.

Is the rooftop bar open year-round?

It operates seasonally. Confirm opening dates and hours before your visit.
