Hotel website: Kigali Marriott Hotel
The Kigali Marriott is one of the first hotels I consider for clients visiting Rwanda for the first time. My stay combined comfortable rooms, an excellent breakfast, and thoughtful service—the things I appreciate most before a busy itinerary.

A central location that felt surprisingly quiet
The hotel is on KN 3 Avenue in Nyarugenge, in central Kigali. It’s a large property that accommodates international events, but the street outside felt quiet during my stay.
That balance worked well for me: a central base with a calmer atmosphere than I expected.

Spacious rooms and a warm welcome
I booked a standard rate as a Marriott Bonvoy member and arrived to find welcome snacks in my room—a small gesture that made the arrival feel personal.
The room was spacious and modern, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a well-designed bathroom. I had a city view, which I’d recommend requesting.

Breakfast and service were highlights
The breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve encountered, with an extensive selection. Check your specific rate to see whether breakfast is included.
The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the stay.
When we had an early safari departure, the team packed breakfast for us to take along. It was a practical, thoughtful touch that made the morning easier.
For travelers heading out early, I’d request a packed breakfast in advance and confirm when it will be ready.
Who I’d recommend it for
The Kigali Marriott is a strong choice for first-time visitors, Marriott Bonvoy members, and travelers spending a night or two in Kigali before or after a safari.
My 5/5 rating reflects how well the hotel delivered on my stay: comfort, a good location, and service that anticipated what we needed.
For a different perspective on Kigali, I’d consider pairing it with a hillside property such as Eagle View Lodge.
